Two of my friends from the Danish Weng Chun fighting team went to Krakow, Poland, this weekend to participate in the European open in Lei Tai/Sanda.
My long time friend and training partner Henrik “Affe” Sprechler won Silver at this event.
Sifu Henrik had three hard fights at the event. The first fight was against an Iranian kick-boxier and was won by points. The second fight was against a guy from Azabajan, who was a former national wrestler and went for many takedowns. The Azerbaijan won the first round, but after changing his tactical approach Sifu henrik, won the next two rounds. The last fighter Sifu Henrik had to fight, was also from Azabajan and was a former two times world champion in Sanda, and a national freestyle wrestler. Sifu Herik lost to a broken toe, which forced him to stop. But all in all a very good event for the Danish Weng Chun fighters and for the future of Weng Chun around the world.
